Players visit Holiday Course

Coach Rob Tuvey, “The first team players gave all the participants a real buzz by turning up (on Friday, 3rd August 2012)”

Players; Charlie Strutton, Pim Balkestein, Christian Jolley and Warren Cummings, showed great AFC Wimbledon Community spirit on Week 2 of the Holiday Course. Proving they believe their work is not only on the pitch of The Cherry Red Records Fans Stadium, but stretches as far as Wimbledon Park also. It was great to see how much of a lift the players gave the kids, giving them the opportunity to play with them, and question them about their experiences as full time professionals.

As the week finished off with a mini tournament, The Football League 2 players managed their own team of aspiring youngsters. The Kids were able to gain valuable information, as the 1st team players passed on their knowledge and experiences to the boys and girls within their side.

With the Summer Holiday Courses now into Week three of six, the levels of participation and enjoyment have succeeded levels of expectation. Plenty of prizes have been given out to high achievers, with announcements and pictures posted on the ‘Player of the day tab’ (above) on a regular basis.

With three and a half weeks left of the Summer Course, there are plenty of prizes left for whoever impresses the Coaches…and you may get an opportunity to endure the afternoon with some of our 1st team players.

No prior sign up neccessary, just turn up on the day around 9:15 am for a 9:30 am start. The day finishes at 3:00 pm, with breaks in between, so bring water and food to keep yourself going throughout the day.

For more information regarding the Course, visit our ‘Holiday Course’ tab above.
